South African influencer and reality TV star Faith Nketsi has reportedly been released following an alleged incident during her holiday in Thailand.

The reality star, who has been sharing highlights from her luxury getaway on social media, was reportedly stopped by local authorities over an incident involving a vape device in public.
According to reports, Nketsi was briefly detained after allegedly being found in possession of a vape while out in the country. She had been vacationing with close friends, including rapper Nadia Nakai and Andzelo Tivani, with the group documenting their trip through yacht outings, high-end dinners, and beach excursions.
While the holiday appeared glamorous online, the situation reportedly escalated after the alleged encounter with Thai authorities.
Thailand enforces some of the strictest vaping laws in the world, with e-cigarettes and vaping products banned nationwide since 2014. Under the country’s regulations, the importation, possession, sale, and use of vape devices are illegal, and offenders can face fines, confiscation of equipment, or even detention.

Although Nketsi has not publicly commented on the incident, reports indicate that she has since been released and is no longer in custody.
The news has sparked discussion online, with many social media users once again highlighting the importance of tourists familiarising themselves with local laws before travelling abroad.
Her representatives have not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter.
