Grammy Award-winning musician Zakes Bantwini has officially launched the Zakes Bantwini Foundation, an initiative aimed at empowering young people and women across South Africa.
The celebrated producer and DJ took to social media to share moments from the glamorous launch event, which was held at the luxurious Saxon Hotel. The event attracted prominent figures from politics, entertainment, business, sports, and the arts, all showing support for the new initiative.
According to Bantwini, the foundation was created to focus on mentorship, access to opportunities, and empowering the next generation through meaningful development programmes.
“This foundation is deeply personal to me. It represents a long-standing commitment to creating access, mentorship, and real opportunities for the next generation, especially youth and women in South Africa,” he shared.
The Osama hitmaker also thanked guests and supporters who attended the launch, saying their presence strengthened the vision and purpose behind the foundation.
Among the notable attendees were Panyaza Lesufi, Gayton McKenzie, businessman Sizwe Nxasana, media personality Tbo Touch, music duo Liquideep, and his wife, Nandi Madida.
Zakes also gave special recognition to his close friend Adam, executive assistant Danielle Nagel, and the foundation’s board members for helping turn the vision into reality.
“This is only the beginning. The work continues,” Bantwini concluded.
