South African actress Buhle Samuels has returned to social media following days of intense public attention after the fatal shooting of her former husband, Thando Sonqishe.
Samuels found herself at the centre of online discussion after reports emerged that Sonqishe was killed in a shooting outside Blue Valley Golf Estate on 28 May 2026. The incident also claimed the life of DJ Oscar Nyathi and remains under active investigation.

As speculation continued to circulate on social media, many users anticipated a public statement from the actress. However, rather than directly addressing the tragedy, Samuels resumed posting content from her recent travels.
The former Muvhango star shared a collection of glamorous images from her trip to Rome, featuring scenic landmarks, elegant fashion moments and an evening at the Comet Theatre.
The posts quickly attracted attention online, with some social media users interpreting them as a sign that she was choosing not to engage publicly with the speculation surrounding the case.

Samuels and Sonqishe reportedly ended their relationship in early 2025 after a marriage that had previously attracted significant public attention. The pair celebrated a lavish traditional wedding in 2023, but reports later suggested they had begun living separately before their split was confirmed in 2025.
Since news of the shooting emerged, social media has been flooded with theories and speculation about possible motives. However, authorities have not released any official findings regarding the circumstances surrounding the attack.
At this stage, investigators continue to examine the case, and no evidence has been made public linking Samuels to the incident. As with any ongoing criminal investigation, conclusions about responsibility or motive remain matters for law enforcement to determine.

For now, the actress appears focused on sharing aspects of her personal life and travels while remaining silent on the ongoing investigation that has captured national attention.
