The South African Police say they’re ready to bust crime this festive season. Minister Bheki Cele announced there will be an additional 10,000 boots on the ground to clamp down on criminals.
Cele says most of these officers will be placed in crime hotspots across the country. With just 15 days to go until Christmas Day, the police ministry and SAPS management would like to outright assure the nation that all hands are on deck to protect citizens and their property,” he said.
“The holiday season is a time when criminals sharpen and refine their operations, taking advantage of the festive mood. We too as the country law enforcement have and continue to upscale our resources to crime for this holiday and beyond.
