This follows a spike in gang-related violence on the Cape Flats, where ten people were killed last weekend.

“The DA reiterates our calls for additional SAPS resources for the high-crime areas of the Cape Flats and the anti-gang unit, and for the devolution of policing powers to competent provincial and local authorities. The DA extends its condolences to those who have lost loved ones and condemns the violence unequivocally and calls upon SAPS to intensify its efforts to address this scourge.”
