The families of missing journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, said that their lives were in limbo, as they await DNA test results to confirm the identity of the remains believed to be of the couple.

It’s been a week since police discovered remains believed to belong to the missing couple in Limpopo.

Ndlovu and Mdhluli went missing in February at their home in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.

Police have arrested eight suspects linked to their disappearance.

Following the postponement of Thursday’s court proceedings, where two newly arrested accused suspects were remanded in custody, Aserie Ndlovu’s mother, Lina Shabangu, said that she was in agony.

Shabangu said that in addition to the ongoing court appearances and repeated postponements, her family remained unable to move forward due to the lack of information regarding the DNA results.

“They have told me what’s happening with the results. I’m just waiting for them now to explain to me what is happening.”

She said that the wait had been long, adding that all her family’s plans had been halted, and she had no hope left.
