President Ramaphosa again calls for ethical leadership in ANC structures! African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has again called for ethical leadership in the party’s structures, as the party doubles down on efforts to deliver on services and grow the local economy.

Ramaphosa delivered the political overview at the ANC’s Provincial Executive Committee induction in Kimberley in the Northern Cape on Friday afternoon.

Once the governing party, ANC support has dwindled over the years amid growing concerns about the poor state of the party, with ethics at the heart of its challenges.

Ramaphosa said a failure to address internal challenges has spillover effects on other pressing national issues.

“The Northern Cape remains one of South Africa’s poorer provinces with both unemployment and the percentage of people living in poverty increasing on an ongoing basis.”

He said party leaders have a responsibility to strive towards economic growth during times of instability.

“You are the ones who must grapple with this issue and look at it very closely as a leadership, as you are being inducted as well, we need to say; ‘what is it that holds the economic growth of this province back?’ and we must together sit down and talk about it.”
