The Cape of Good Hope Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has urged residents to help and report any animals in distress, as local flooding poses a serious risk to pets and strays.

SPCA spokesperson Belinda Abraham said anyone evacuating without a place for their pets can call for assistance.
