It is continuing with mopping up operations on Monday, while the city’s Department of Energy attends to power outages.
The centre’s Sonia Lategan said they are providing hot meals and warm clothing to the affected people while they continue to monitor and assess what is still needed.

“Not many have been displaced. If you talk about structures that has been affected and it’s mostly ankle-deep or dirt, wet floors but in some areas, it has been knee-deep as well. Many of these people who have been displaced have opted to stay with friends and family and some of them accommodated in church halls.”
