The repair work is aimed at replacing temporary fixes done on the pipeline in the past with permanent solutions.
It will affect supply within the Palmiet system, which means residents from Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, and Madibeng will be affected.
“We are repairing leaks of the O2 pipeline. The work started today [Tuesday] at 5am and will be completed on Friday, the 18th of July,” said spokesperson Makenosi Maroo.
“The system that will be affected is the Palmiet system, which means there will be reduced pumping at the Palmiet system, [where] pumping will be reduced at 67%.”
