A 68-year-old female suspect is yet to face the courts over the matter.
Mahlangu’s family said it has been receiving information from some locals in Diwinddie in Germiston, alleging that the brother of the 68-year-old woman is a former top cop.
The family claims authorities have not been forthcoming with regards to the investigation of the matter.
Family spokesperson Mzwandile Soyaya said the police have failed to conduct a thorough investigation.
“I’m going to fight now in Germiston because somewhere, somehow, somebody is not telling us the truth.”
He said the community is prepared to march to the court to seek justice for the murder of the teen.
