South Africa’s 2nd quarter economic growth ticks up by 0.8%! The South African economy has surpassed growth expectations for the second quarter of the year, ticking up by 0.8%.
This follows a lackluster increase of 0.1% in the previous quarter.

Statistics SA released the latest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) print on Tuesday, amid concerns that the country’s economy continues to struggle to hit the right notes.
Statistician-General Risenga Malueka said that mining, manufacturing, and trade gave the economy its biggest boost in the period under review, while construction is among the underperformers.
