National Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole has made representations to President Cyril Ramaphosa as to why he should not be suspended. Two weeks ago, Sitole, was served with a notice of intention to suspend.
In January, a court ruled that he and his deputies had “breached their duties”, by not de-classifying and providing documents to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.
In March, another judge dismissed an application by Sitole for leave to appeal. Sitole will now have to wait for the President to make a decision on his future.
