The Department of Correctional Services says that Oscar Pistorius is not necessarily free to go home. Spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo says that the fact that Pistorius is eligible for parole does not mean he should automatically be released.
Nxumalo responded the fact that the Constitutional Court stating that Pistorius has been eligible for parole for the past 6 months.
He was denied parole back in April on the basis that it was too early in his 13-year sentence.
