Municipalities offered relief from Eskom debt burden

Municipalities are getting a helping hand when it comes to their Eskom debt. Many owe the power utility billions  of rand in unpaid power bills.

On application, debt to Ekom up to 31 March 2023 will be written off over a three year period but it comes with terms and conditions.

The announcement was made by Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana, who delivered his medium term budget speech in parliament earlier.
