Police in KwaZulu-Natal say they are now investigating six counts of murder following a shooting incident at a house in Folweni, south of Durban.

It is alleged that unknown gunmen attacked the victims – which include four men and two women. The seventh victim – a female who survived the attack – was rushed to the hospital. The motive for the attack is not known at this stage and no arrests have been made.

Police Spokesperson Jay Naicker says, “The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has condemned the killing of six people in Folweni. It’s alleged that last night seven people were shot by unknown suspects whilst they were inside a house on Mngadi Road in Folweni.

“Police were only alerted by members of the community on Monday morning and discovered the gruesome scene.
