Selby Mbenenge tribunal: Witnesses to continue giving testimony! Witnesses will continue giving testimony at the Judicial Conduct Tribunal probing sexual harassment allegations against Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge.
Evidence leader, Advocate Salome Scheepers, has introduced staff from the division to give evidence on their knowledge of the relationship between Mbenenge and High Court secretary Andiswa Mengo.

The tribunal on Thursday zoomed in on the nature of the relationship that Mbenenge shares with all the secretaries in the division, questioning the interactions the top judge would have with junior staff.
Judge’s secretary and friend to Mengo, Abongile Tshete, said he enjoyed a different relationship with the judge president but also described him as a father figure, a submission similar to that made by Mengo.
“It would also depend, but it would be about work. Sometimes it’s about what I’ve achieved. As a father figure, he will communicate and congratulate me on anything that I’ve achieved, so it always depends on what it is.”
