Kamogelo was abducted in Bloemfontein last Thursday by suspects posing as police officers.
Provincial police commissioner Baile Motswenyane revealed that the investigation is now at a critical stage.
He stressed that any involvement of SAPS members in criminal activities will not be tolerated.

The teen was driving home from school with a family friend when a bakkie fitted with blue lights pulled them over.
Two men — one wearing a police uniform and the other in a blue tracksuit — accused them of transporting drugs and ordered them to drive to the Park Road Police Station.
Evidence Discovered
Kamogelo’s cellphone was later found under a bridge on Fereirra Road.
