Court hears details in case against man accused of raping 9-year-old Hanover Park girl! The Wynberg Magistrates Court has heard harrowing details during the first appearance of a man accused of raping a nine-year-old girl in Hanover Park.
The 51-year-old was taken into custody on Tuesday after the child was found at his house, several hours after her family reported her missing.
Police were forced to disperse a crowd that demanded he be released, so the community could deal with him.

Emotions ran high in courtroom 4 where the 51-year-old man made his first appearance on charges of human trafficking, rape, sexual assault and abduction.
The victim’s relatives and Hanover Park community members who filled the public gallery grew even angrier when the accused told the court he had been assaulted at a police station before arriving at court this morning.
The court heard the girl was walking to Muslim school when the man approached her and asked her to buy milk…when she returned from the shop, he locked her up inside his house and gave her a sandwich, after which she became drowsy.
The accused, who cannot be named at this stage, was placed on parole in November.
He was sentenced in March 2008 to 25 years imprisonment for rape and indecent assault.
Police have confirmed that the victim was a 10-year-old child.
