Cape Town gun violence: Cape Flats Safety Forum again calls for special probe! The Cape Flats Safety Forum is once again calling for special probe into gun violence in Cape Town.

The call comes days after alleged underworld figure Andre Naude was shot in broad daylight in Parow.

Police said that a car pulled up next to him in the main street, and the occupants fired several shots at him.

His murder comes just seven months after another underworld figure, Mark Lifman, was shot in George.

The two were on trial for the murder of “Steroid King” Brian Wainstein, along with alleged gang boss Jerome Booysen.

The chairperson for the Cape Flats Safety Forum, Abe Isaacs, said more needed to be done in terms of gun control and the violence it brings.

“We note of concern yet again the shooting incident that have taken place in and around the Cape Flats, where a person has been shot just yesterday.

We call again for a special probe to be set up to deal with gun violence and asking the authorities to be on high alert in certain areas, where there might be potential of escalation.”
