Likhona Fose murder: Case against accused has been postponed! Proceedings in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on the murder case of a minor have been postponed to next week.

This for the state to gather more information to oppose bail application.

Mduduzi Trevor Mnisi appeared before the court on Wednesday for the gruesome murder of 14-year-old Likhona Fose.

Fose’s mutilated body was discovered in an open veld a week ago, a day after she was reported missing.

Mnisi has a criminal record. He was previously convicted of attempted murder and robbery for crimes committed in 2007.

The 39-year-old looked visibly relaxed and unshaken as he made his way into the dock, having been charged with the premeditated murder of Fose.

He also faces prior charges of attempted murder and robbery.

It’s understood that Mnisi had recently been released from jail, not more than three months ago.

In courtroom F, the state asked for the matter to be remanded for seven days in order to gather enough information to oppose the bail application.

Meanwhile, outside the court, the community held a protest against Mnisi’s release on bail, carrying placards saying ‘Justice for Likhona Fose’.
