NSRI: Missing man’s body found along KZN coastline

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) has confirmed that the body of a man, suspected to have gone missing on Friday, has been found along the Mfazazana coastline on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

The 37-year-old man reportedly went missing after disappearing under the water while swimming near a school of sardines.

The NSRI reported that a shark then appeared in the water where the man went missing.

The organization said the body discovered by police divers appeared to show signs of shark wounds.

The body of the deceased man has been taken into the care of police and Government Health Forensic Pathology Services. Formal identification of the man, in cooperation with police and Government Health Forensic Pathology Services, are in progress.”
