The KwaZulu-Natal Community Safety department says there has been an increase in political violence in Nongoma after the removal of the Inkatha Freedom Party from power.
MEC Sipho Hlomuka says a multi-party meeting with the electoral commission is expected to be held on Monday to find ways to stop the spate of killings plaguing the province.
A specialised task team has been investigating more than 300 related cases, which date as far back as 2011.
